At the University of Idaho College of Engineering, we graduate highly skilled students ready to overcome challenges, turn creative ideas into reality and change the world through creativity and teamwork.

Gifts made during Vandal Giving Day support our:

Dean’s Excellence Fund 

Gifts to the Dean’s Excellence Fund impact students and faculty in areas that are oftentimes overlooked. Our focus this year is student retention and emergency needs for those in crisis situations. The first 50 donors to give to the Dean's Excellent fund will unlock an additional $5k to the Allen S. Janssen Engineering Scholarship Endowment AND gifts will be matched dollar for dollar up to $5,500!

Undergraduate Research

We emphasize hands-on learning experiences at the College of Engineering and undergraduate research is just one of the ways we prepare our students for excelling in their careers. The Richard T and Bonnie L. Jacobsen Scholars in Engineering endowment will provide the opportunity for undergraduate students to gain hands-on research experiences through a paid assistantship. Gifts will be matched dollar for dollar up to $5,000!

College of Engineering Scholarships

Your gift supports the dreams and career aspirations of students at the College of Engineering. The University of Idaho is nationally ranked for best value, but we recognize the struggle of students lacking financial resources. Scholarships can alleviate the stress and are used to attract the best and brightest students who may otherwise never attend college. 

Lou Edwards Endowed Chair for Chemical Engineering

Lou Edwards’ wife, Doris, and the Edwards family will match your contribution dollar for dollar up to $5,000 on Vandal Giving Day to support the first endowed chair position in Chemical Engineering! Gifts honor the legacy of Lou Edwards, who received awards for his contributions to teaching and research and was a talented faculty member who made a difference in the lives of many U of I students. The Lou Edwards Endowed Chair in Chemical Engineering will continue Lou’s tradition of excellence in leadership, teaching and research, and enable U of I to attract and retain top faculty members.
