What is Vandal Giving Day?
Vandal Giving Day is an online fundraising event giving alumni, donors and friends worldwide the opportunity to come together and celebrate the best of Idaho by supporting University of Idaho students and their future.
How can I participate?
Simply by donating, you will make an impact — every gift makes a difference. To get more involved, sign up to be an ambassador to get special resources to spread the word with your personal network. We also encourage you to post about Vandal Giving Day on social media using #VandalsGive.
I’m a U of I employee. Can I give through payroll deduction?
U of I faculty and staff may set up a recurring monthly gift by visiting our online giving portal, entering the amount of each payment (not the cumulative amount of the gift), check the "Make this gift recurring", select "custom (monthly), and 9 months. Please include "VGD [$ of your gift]" in the "In Honor of" field.
If this seems too complicated, no worries! Just contact gifts@uidaho.edu and they'll take care of this for you!
Where do my Vandal Giving Day gifts go?
Your gift is received by the University of Idaho Foundation, Inc. After your gift is processed, it is allocated to the program(s) you’ve chosen through the Vandal Giving Day website.

Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes. Philanthropic contributions to the University of Idaho are tax deductible as provided by law. You will receive an emailed receipt shortly after completing your gift. If you require a printed receipt, please contact gifts@uidaho.edu or 208-885-4000.
Please note that, due to changes to the IRS tax code, as of January 1, 2018 your gift in support of the Vandal Scholarship Fund will not count toward priority seating, also known as “seatbacks.” Any seatback gift will not be counted in Vandal Giving Day totals.
I want to make a gift. Where should I give?
There are plenty of options for you to choose from, including every college, Vandal Promise scholarships, the Vandal Marching Band, the U of I Library and more. Every gift, regardless of size, makes an impact in the lives of our students! If you can't find an area you are looking for, visit our main giving form and your gift will count during the Vandal Giving Day campaign.
Is there a minimum donation amount?
You can make a gift of $5 or more to participate in Vandal Giving Day. Every gift makes a difference.
Can I make a gift of stock? Can I do an IRA rollover?
Yes. To make a gift of stock, please contact the University of Idaho Foundation at 208-885-4000 to make arrangements. Please be sure to mention your gift is for Vandal Giving Day.
