What is Vandal Giving Day?

How can I participate?
Simply by donating, you will make an impact—giving even a little changes a lot. To get more involved, sign up to be an ambassador to get special resources to spread the word far and wide. We also encourage you to post about Vandal Giving Day on social media using #VandalsGive.
I’m a U of I employee. Can I give through payroll deduction?
Yes! U of I faculty and staff can sign up for payroll deduction to cover a maximum of five pay periods (or through the end of the fiscal year). To sign up for payroll deduction, contact Eric Billings at ebillings@uidaho.edu.
Can I make a gift of stock? Can I do an IRA rollover?
Yes. To make a gift of stock, please contact the University of Idaho Foundation at 208-885-4000 to make arrangements. Please be sure to mention your gift is for Vandal Giving Day.
Where should I give?
There are plenty of options for you to choose from, including scholarships, the ICCU Arena, the Vandal Marching Band, the U of I Library and others. Every gift, regardless of size, makes an impact in the lives of our students!
Is there a minimum donation amount?
You can make a gift of $5 or more to participate in Vandal Giving Day. Every gift makes a difference.
Where do my Vandal Giving Day gifts go?
Your gift is received by the University of Idaho Foundation, Inc. After your gift is processed, it is allocated to the program(s) you’ve chosen through the Vandal Giving Day website.
Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes. Philanthropic contributions to the University of Idaho are tax deductible as provided by law. You will receive an emailed receipt shortly after completing your gift. If you require a printed receipt, please contact gifts@uidaho.edu or 208-885-4000.
Please note that, due to changes to the IRS tax code, as of January 1, 2018 your gift in support of the Vandal Scholarship Fund will not count toward priority seating, also known as “seatbacks.”
Will my employer match my gift?
Many employers have Matching Gift programs to match charitable donations made by their employees. Please contact your employer for more information.

Can I give to another fund not listed on the Vandal Giving Day website?
Yes! You can make a gift using our online giving form located HERE. Please note that these gifts will not show up on the website in real time and will show your name and amount on the donor wall once the gift is processed. If you'd like for your name and/or amount undisclosed, please send an email to vandalsgive@uidaho.edu.
