College of Engineering

At the University of Idaho College of Engineering, students don't wait until graduation to make an impact. From a Senior Capstone Design Program ranked top seven in the nation to hands-on research at an R1 institution, every part of a Vandal engineering education is built around real experience. 95% of our graduates leave with a job offer, are enrolled in graduate school, or enter military service.

This Vandal Giving Day, every gift moves something forward. Find the area that means the most to you. With giving opportunities across the College of Engineering, you can support the students and programs you care about most. Scroll down to explore where you can make an impact.

Start here. Three featured funds, one powerful mission:

Dean's Innovation Fund

The Dean's Innovation Fund advances the research and faculty support that power the College of Engineering and drive the college's continued growth and impact. It creates opportunities for students to get engage in hands-on work through labs, projects, and industry connected experiences.

This work sustains the University of Idaho Carnegie R1 status, strengthens competitiveness for major grants, and builds partnerships that benefit every student in the college.

Innovation starts with bold ideas. Thanks to the support of the Robert and Gloria Furgason Family, every gift to the Dean’s Innovation Fund will be matched dollar for dollar up to $10,000, accelerating research and helping sustain the University of Idaho’s Carnegie R1 status.

Engineering the Future Scholarships

For many students, the path to an engineering degree is not always clear or accessible. Engineering Future Scholarships help make that path possible, providing the support students need to take the next step and succeed at the University of Idaho.

By opening the door to engineering education, these scholarships help students build the skills, confidence, and experience needed to pursue careers in the field and contribute to the future workforce.

Thanks to the generosity of Byron and Karen Flynn, every gift to the Engineering the Future Scholarships will be matched dollar for dollar up to $5,000, supporting high school students with strong potential recruited through the EXPO VIP Program who are now pursuing engineering degrees at the University of Idaho.

Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam Support

Earning an engineering degree is a major milestone, and taking the next step into the profession is just as important. The Fundamentals of Engineering Exam supports students as they transition from the classroom to their careers, building confidence and demonstrating their readiness to enter the field.

It is a key step on the path toward professional licensure and long-term success in engineering.

Every five gifts to the FE Exam Support Fund will unlock $1,000 in additional support, up to $5,000. These funds support engineering seniors as they take the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam, the first step toward becoming licensed professional engineers.
