Education Abroad
When you support Education Abroad, students can plan and integrate an international experience into their undergraduate studies. Research has shown that students who study abroad have higher retention and graduation rates, higher academic performance and satisfaction, and improved communication skills. Many students return with a greater sense of self-efficacy, independence and personal growth.
Through your gift this Vandal Giving Day, you are helping students overcome the biggest barrier to an international experience, funding! Education Abroad is actively building a study abroad scholarship fund open to all U of I majors.
2026 marks the launch of the Vandals First Abroad program for first-generation students. This cohort made up of students from the Vandals First and TRIO programs and dedicated U of I support staff are getting ready for their departure in May and will engage in group activities that will enrich their experience in Italy.
Thank you for supporting U of I students taking part in the Vandals First Abroad Program and other transformational experiences abroad!
