Lionel Hampton School of Music

Lionel Hampton School of Music

The Lionel Hampton School of Music is a close-knit community of prominent performers, teachers, composers and scholars who interact closely with dedicated and talented students.

We are a musically-comprehensive and nationally-recognized School of Music, providing an environment in which our students learn by performing, listening, analyzing and creating music. Together, the faculty and students create an atmosphere of professional awareness, mutual support, collaboration and outreach. We advance the art of music through hundreds of concerts and recitals each year.

LHSOM Excellence Fund

The generosity of people like you makes it possible for the LHSOM to bring music to our students, campus and community. Please consider making a donation this Vandal Giving Day.

Your gift to the LHSOM Excellence Fund supports student performances and travel, instruments and venues for LHSOM ensembles, concerts and outreach on the Palouse, and music education across the Pacific Northwest.

Auditorium Chamber Music Series

The Auditorium Chamber Music Series (ACMS) is celebrating 40 years of bringing outstanding chamber music performances to classrooms and communities around the Palouse. This year’s ACMS artists included internationally renowned ensembles and GRAMMY-nominated and award-winning musicians. In addition to a vibrant concert series, ACMS offers musical experiences and education by some of the world's finest performers through school visits, workshops and outreach programs.

40 years & $40,000

Celebrate 40 years of the Auditorium Chamber Music Series by helping us reach our $40,000 goal and keep our future strong. Thanks to generous contributions from Dale Moore, William Sischo, Jo Ellen Force, Bill Voxman and Joanne Reece, we are halfway there.

Help us raise the remaining $20,000 to reach our $40,000 goal.

Your gift, of any amount, supports world-class performances, student masterclasses and free programs for the entire Palouse community. Thank you for being an essential part of ACMS!

Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival

The University of Idaho Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival (LHJF) is one of the largest and oldest educational jazz festivals in the world. A longstanding community tradition, the festival provides performance and collaboration opportunities for students of all ages, including the chance to perform on the ICCU mainstage in front of a live audience!

Your gift helps keep this beloved tradition alive – enriching our community through the joy of jazz. LHJF relies on community support to bring exceptional jazz artists to the U of I Campus to engage with our community and perform in exciting evening concerts.

Jazz Fest Instrument Fund

Make a gift to the Jazz Fest Instrument fund! Last year, Vandal Giving Day funded the purchase of 7 Ludwig drum sets that will be used for student performances at this year's festival. This year, your gift supports the purchase of instruments and equipment for performances and workshops such as a vibraphone or choir risers.
