Join us for Vandal Giving Day on April 7–8 and support the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences as we continue to prepare students, advance research and serve communities across Idaho. Your gift helps create hands-on learning opportunities, support students when they need it most and strengthen programs that make a real impact across our state.
Please consider making a gift during Vandal Giving Day to support:
College of Agricultural and Life Sciences CALS Excellence Fund
The College of Agricultural and Life Sciences Excellence Fund provides critical, flexible support that allows CALS to invest in its highest priorities, enhancing student experiences, strengthening recruitment and advancing programs that serve communities across Idaho. As the college’s primary excellence fund, it supports opportunities beyond the classroom, including student travel, hands-on learning and connections with industry leaders. By meeting immediate needs and expanding access to these experiences, this fund helps prepare CALS students to lead in agriculture, natural resources and life sciences.

Judi Byram Memorial Fund
The Judi Byram Memorial Fund, utilized for CALS Student Financial Hardship, provides timely, life-changing support for students navigating unexpected financial challenges. Whether facing medical expenses, housing instability or sudden loss of income, this fund helps students cover essential needs so they can remain enrolled and focused on their education. By stepping in during critical moments, donor support reduces stress, restores stability and ensures that financial hardship does not stand in the way of student success.
Check out Dr. Matt Doumit's challenge, unlocking $500 to the Judi Byram Fund, for CALS Student Financial Hardship, when 10 gifts are given to this fund!
Agricultural & Life Sciences Study Abroad Scholarship
The Agricultural & Life Sciences Study Abroad Scholarship expands access to global, hands-on learning experiences that prepare students for an increasingly interconnected agricultural industry. Through study abroad, students engage with diverse production systems, environmental conditions and cultural perspectives, gaining skills that cannot be replicated in a classroom alone. These experiences build confidence, adaptability and a broader understanding of global food and natural resource systems, helping students return to Idaho ready to make a greater impact.

Excellence in Extension
Excellence in Extension supports the outreach and engagement work that brings University of Idaho research directly into communities across the state. Through Extension programs, CALS delivers practical, research-based solutions to producers, families and youth, strengthening agriculture, supporting 4-H development and improving quality of life for Idahoans. This fund ensures that CALS can continue to meet the evolving needs of communities while maintaining a strong connection between research, education and real-world application.
