At the University of Idaho's McCall Outdoor Science School (MOSS), the classroom is the outdoors. For over 20 years, thousands of K-12 students from across Idaho have come to MOSS to connect with the natural world through hands-on field science. University of Idaho graduate students lead those experiences — building the skills to become the next generation of natural resource educators, researchers, and leaders.
This summer, we will begin construction our our brand-new Dining Lodge — the social and educational hub of our campus. It's where students debrief after a day in the field, where mentors and mentees share a meal, and where the MOSS community comes together. But we still need to furnish it.
This Vandal Giving Day 2026 (April 7–8), every gift to McCall Field Campus goes directly toward chairs and tables for the Dining Lodge:
- $50 = one chair
- $1,000 = one table Goal: 150 chairs + 10 tables = $17,500
On April 7, our associate director, Gary, is running a 5K — inside the current MOSS Dining Lodge, laps around the tables, all day — with cameo appearances from staff, graduate students, and faculty. Follow along with #uidahomoss and #VandalGivingDay.
Your gift is tangible, permanent, and will be used every day by the students, educators, and researchers who make MOSS what it is. Help us put a seat at the table for Idaho's future scientists and leaders.
