This year, the Library is investing more in the Making, Innovating, and Learning Laboratory — the MILL. Located on the first floor of the Library and open to everyone on campus, the MILL is where students turn concepts into reality. With 3D printers, a laser cutter and engraver, and a full calendar of hands-on workshops, the MILL gives Vandals access to state-of-the-art technology that most would never encounter on their own — tools that spark curiosity, build technical confidence, and prepare students for careers that demand creative problem-solving. From engineering prototypes to art installations, from class projects to personal passion builds, the MILL bridges disciplines and breaks down barriers between thinking and making. It is one of the most inclusive, energizing spaces on campus — and demand continues to grow. We are celebrating the tenth anniversary of the MILL this year and have big plans on how to continue to make it better!
Your donation will help us maintain and expand the equipment, materials, and staffing that keep the MILL running and accessible to every student who walks through the door. It will fund new technology, replace consumable supplies, create student fellowships, and support the workshops and one-on-one guidance that turn first-time makers into confident creators.
Your gift during Vandal Giving Day will help us unlock matching gifts provided by the Library Advisory Board and others. These much-needed funds enable us to sustain and grow a space that is central to the hands-on, innovative education our students deserve.
