Your gift today will enable students to study abroad earlier in their college career, which will positively impact engagement, retention and future employability. Employers value the skills students gain during a study abroad experience including interpersonal skills, curiosity, adaptability, confidence, self-awareness, problem solving and tolerance for ambiguity. Funds raised will go toward study abroad scholarships and sponsoring a student's first adult U.S. passport!
Funding is the #1 barrier to an international experience and through Vandal Giving Day, Education Abroad aims to:
- Create a new study abroad scholarship fund open to all U of I majors
- Sponsor the cost of getting a U.S passport ($165) as a first step. Education Abroad will provide support to passport recipients and help make a subsequent study abroad experience happen!
